Your plans are stored on your device

There is no account and no sign-in. Everything you enter — guests, budget, vendors, seating, schedule — lives in the app on your device and is never uploaded. That is a deliberate privacy choice, and it has one consequence worth understanding: if you lose the device and have no backup, the plans go with it. Making a backup takes about ten seconds.

Making a backup

  1. Open Settings → Team & Sync → Backup & Restore.
  2. Tap Create Backup.
  3. Save the file wherever you like — Files, iCloud Drive, or email it to yourself. It ends in .wpbackup.

Turning off Include Photos makes the file much smaller if you only need the planning data.

Moving to a new phone, or handing plans to your partner

A backup file is how plans move between devices and between people. The important part is when you restore it.

  1. On the device that has the plans, create a backup and send the file to the other person (or to yourself).
  2. On the new device, install the app and open it. You will land on the Welcome screen.
  3. Tap Restore from a Backup at the bottom of that screen and choose the file. Do this before filling in names and dates.
Why the order matters. The app plans one wedding at a time. If you tap Start Planning first, that device now has its own wedding, and a backup of a different wedding can no longer be merged into it — the app will tell you so rather than mixing two guest lists together. If that happens, you can still start over: back up anything you have already entered, use Settings → Delete Everything, then restore from the Welcome screen.

Restoring never deletes anything

Restoring a backup of the wedding you are already planning only adds what is missing. It cannot overwrite or remove anything you have entered, so restoring the same file twice is harmless.

Common questions

Does it sync between my phone and my partner's?

Not yet. There is no live syncing — changes made on one device do not appear on another. Backup and restore is a one-time copy, not a running sync. If you both plan on separate devices, agree on which one is the master copy.

Apple Music search isn't returning anything

Catalogue search needs an active Apple Music subscription and permission to use it. You can always add songs by typing the title and artist yourself — the DJ brief and its export work exactly the same either way.

The contract scanner missed something

It reads amounts, dates and key terms from a photo of a contract, and it is a reading aid rather than a lawyer. Always check what it pulled out before adding a payment to your budget. It works best on a flat, well-lit, in-focus page. On devices without Apple Intelligence it falls back to simpler text matching, which still finds most amounts and dates.

Can I plan more than one wedding?

No. The app is built around a single wedding, and the guest list, budget and schedule all belong to it.

Why does it need iOS 26?

The contract scanner uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models, which are only available from iOS 26 onward.

Something looks wrong and I'm worried about my data

If the app ever cannot open your saved plans, it will say so on a recovery screen rather than starting empty. Do not delete or reinstall the app — that would erase the data that is still on the device. Email us instead, and mention what the recovery screen said under Technical details.
