Privacy Policy — KidBase
The short version
KidBase does not collect, sell, or share your personal information. There are no accounts, no ads, and no analytics or tracking tools. What you record about your child is stored on your device and in your own private iCloud account, which we cannot access. It is shared only with people you personally invite.

None of this information is sent to us. We do not operate servers for KidBase and have no way to see your data.
iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, KidBase uses Apple's CloudKit service to keep your data in sync across your own devices. This data is stored in your iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy. Apple encrypts it in transit and on its servers. We cannot read it. If iCloud is off, your data stays on the device.
Family Sharing
You can invite other people, such as a partner, grandparent, or nanny, to a specific child. Sharing is handled by Apple's iCloud sharing system.
- When you share a child, everything recorded for that child becomes visible to the people you invite. That includes health, allergy and medication information, journal entries, and photos. Invited people can also add and edit records.
- Other children in your app are not shared unless you share them separately.
- To send an invitation, you choose how to send it, for example by Messages or Mail. The recipient's contact details are handled by Apple's sharing sheet and are not sent to us.
- You can stop sharing at any time from the Family Sharing screen. The people you invited lose access on their next sync. Your own copy is not deleted.
- If someone shared a child with you, you can remove that child from your device. This removes only your copy and does not delete anything from the parent who shared it.

Photos
KidBase uses the system photo picker. The app only receives the specific photos you choose. It does not get access to the rest of your library.
Microphone and speech recognition
These are used only when you use voice logging, for example saying "log a wet diaper". Speech is recognized on your device. Audio is not recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.
Notifications
If you keep leap reminders on and allow notifications, KidBase schedules a reminder on your device a few days before each developmental leap, using your child's first name and birth date. These are local notifications. No server or push notification service is involved.
On-device AI
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, KidBase can summarize recent patterns and understand more flexible voice commands using Apple's on-device model. This runs entirely on your device. On other devices these AI features are unavailable, and KidBase does not download any AI model.
Your child's data is never sent to an AI service.
Siri and Shortcuts
If you use KidBase with Siri or the Shortcuts app, your requests are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. KidBase saves the result to your device, exactly as if you had logged it in the app.
Tips
KidBase is free. Optional tips are in-app purchases processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive your name, payment details, or Apple ID.
What we do not do
- We do not require or offer an account.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- We do not sell or share personal information.
Children's privacy
KidBase is designed for parents and caregivers. It is not directed to children, and children are not expected to use it. The information about a child in KidBase is entered by a parent or caregiver and remains under their control. We do not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Health information
KidBase is a record-keeping tool, not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice. Health details you enter stay on your device and in your iCloud account. We never receive them.
Keeping and deleting your data
- Delete a child: in Settings, swipe left on the child. This deletes that child and all of their records from your device and your iCloud.
- Delete everything: delete the app. To also remove the iCloud copy, open the Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage, choose KidBase, and delete its data.
- Exported files are ordinary files. Delete them wherever you saved them.
Because we do not hold any of your data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our side. You are in full control of it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights over personal information a company holds about you. We do not hold any personal information from KidBase. If you have a question or request, email us and we will respond.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. If a change affects how your data is handled, we will describe it in the app's release notes.
